Ravensworth Golf Club Par 70 5674 Yards

A fantastic 18 hole golf course that was formed in 1906. The tight fairways and fast running greens combine to provide a good test of golf for all abilities.The club prides itself on the welcome given to visitors. Ideally located just 2 minute from the A1.

Newcastle United Par 72 6422 Yards

Situated only 5 minutes drive from Newcastle city center, the club is regarded as one of the premier clubs in the area. A challenging but fair test of golf and boasts some of the longest par fives in the area.

Linden Hall Golf Club Linden Hall Golf & Country Club Par 72

Nestled in a 450-acre estate at the heart of the Northumberland countryside, the golf course at Macdonald Linden Hall, Golf & Country Club is one of the area's finest.Set against a backdrop of the North Sea and surrounded by mature woodlands, the course boasts a unique and picturesque location.

Wynyard Golf Club Par 72 7000Yards

The Wellington Course is rated as one of the UK's best golf courses. This well designed championship course will challenge the most experienced golfers.

Gosforth Bridlepath Par 69 5761 Yards

First opened in 1906, the club has evolved into a course that is a pleasure to play for golfers of all abilities. Set in 90 acres just north of Newcastle its the ideal setting for this course of immense character.

Ponteland Golf Club Par 72 6287 Yards

Established in 1927, this picturesque parkland course offers easy walking as well as a fair and memorable challenge. Renowned for the quality of its fairways and greens, visitors are assured a friendly welcome.

Heworth Golf Club Par 71 6421 Yards

This parkland course was opened in 1912 originally as a nine hole course and expanded to 18 holes in 1976. It offers golfers of all abilities a true test of golf.

Hexham Golf Club Par 70 6301 Yards

A traditional parkland course on fast draining land on the south side of the River Tyne, Hexham Golf Club is a tough enough test of golf to regularly host County events.The greens are regularly amongst the best in the County, and the views over the confluence of the North and South Tyne and surrounding countryside are stunning.

Backworth Golf Club Par 70 5800 Yards

At 5800 yards, Backworth Golf Course is a par 71 with a SSS of 68. The course record stands at 66, an indication that the course in no pushover. The well-defended greens are small targets requiring a very good short game to put together a good score. This 9 hole course, with the 2nd nice played from different tees provides, a very tough test and you must be accurate around this track.

Arcot Hall Golf ClubArcot Hall Golf Club Par 70 6097 Yards

A two hundred year old, grade II listed clubhouse, allied to a course laid out by world famous golf course architect, James Braid, gives us a hidden gem tucked away on the outskirts of Newcastle. This is a calm and peaceful environment where you can enjoy a relaxing round of golf on a course that was once an Open qualifying venue.

Mount Oswald Golf Club 5991 Yards

Mount Oswald can now boast one of the most appealing and mature courses in the area. The 18 hole parkland course, whilst not too long, 5991 yards to be exact, is popular with many seasoned golfers, yet is not too daunting for the less experienced.


Parkland or Links???

The North of England boasts a mixture of quality parkland and links golf courses. The golf courses in and around Newcastle are parkland however once you head to the costal areas in Northumberland and down the coast into Teeside you will find some of the best links golf courses the country has to offer.

Goswick Golf Club

This championship course, situated south of Berwick Upon Tweed is a true links course and the R & A have chosen Goswick as a regional qualifier for the Open Championship until 2012

Seaton Carew Golf Club

Founded in 1874 this course provides a true links challenge for all golfers throughout the whole year.  A course of nearly 7000 yards off  the championship tees provides a test for even the best golfer but one that is also inviting for the more regular club golfer.

Hartlepool Golf Club Par 70 5991 Yards

The course, which runs along the coast, has been designed to take advantage of the many natural features. The seaward side is protected by hillocks and dunes covered with marram grass. James Braid designed some of the holes, the most spectacular being the tenth which requires a straight drive and a good second shot between dunes.

Cleveland Golf Club Par 73 6704 Yards

Established in 1887 this is the oldest course in Yorkshire.This championship links course can be played all year round. With a great design incorporating well placed bunkers this is a true test of links golf..
